I aim to use recycled containers, spent candle jars or pretty and odd cups, tins and charity shop treasures, or new but refillable containers. My candles and wax melts use natural eco soya wax, essential oils and cotton wicks. They are healther and more environmentally friendly and burn longer than paraffin wax or artificial synthetic fragrances.
Soy wax candles are becoming a popular alternative to paraffin wax candles ecause they are made from plant oils which are natural, biodegradable and renewable and a lot more environmentally friendly compared to other candles that use petroleum in their wax.
Paraffin can contain dangerous toxins and carcinogens such as benzene, acetone, lead & mercury when burned. Moreover, paraffin produces more soot, coating ceilings and walls. Paraffin burns at a higher temperature meaning that is burns faster; it is not water soluble or biodegradable.
