I started crocheting when my middle daughter was just a few months old and quickly fell in love. At first I was using it as a way to unwind at the end of the day but quickly learned others could be if it from my creations! I started my shop in 2013 under the name “Faivor-it Creations” which was awesome, I made a “boo” hat and sold around 30 of them and was so excited. As our family grew I put my shop into vacation mode and took a break for a while as we moved to a new house, had more babies, did some remodel projects you know all the fun stuff haha.

In 2018 we moved to Texas and I decided to put a lot more time into myself and my business. I changed my name to “Rooster Ties” and started an Instagram to go along with it. I’m slowly adding more items into my shop that I not only love to make but know my customers will love as well and expanding from just crochet items to knitting and sewing.

March of 2020 brought so many uncertainties to so many families not only across the country but across the word. I was facing putting my oldest daughter on a plane to travel from TX to MI at Easter when so much about COVID was in known and scary. I picked up my sewing machine, that I had used maybe once or twice before and started frantically making masks so she could wear them on the plane and hopefully have a better chance of not getting sick. Her flight thankfully was canceled, but I knew so many more people were also in a scary situation. I was able to get in touch with some local mask making groups, perfected my masks and started donating them. I added masks into my shop to help fund more materials to keep donating. Before returning to work in June after being laid off since the beginning of April I had donated just over 1,000 masks!

In July of 2020 when the country was reopening we made our second cross country move back to our hometown in MI where I will be homeschooling our 3 younger children and focusing on our shop
