TEACHING COMMITMENTS 2012:
I have finally been able to get together with Lisa at Darn Yarns in Harmony, PA to set dates for classes. Starting April 14 I will be teaching Spindle Spinning once a month and we're both hoping that this will grow into a healthy spinning and weaving resource for the local folks.
On May 26 & 27 I taught Textured Yarns and Knot/Slub Yarns in Wooster, OH at the Great Lakes Fiber Show. It was a hot and steamy weekend but that didn't deter anybody from shopping and having a great time. And my students are always a great inspiration to me--thank you, ladies!
I taught Spindle Spinning to 5 very enthusiastic ladies at the Waynesburg (PA) Sheep & Fiber Festival, May 19 & 20. See their website for details.
Feistywoman Designs offers selected spinning fibers, usually blended and carded in my studio, and knitting patterns designed for handspun or commercial yarn. I have always loved color and am drawn to it like a moth to the light. I am at my best when in the outdoors enjoying the peace and natural rhythms around me. From these two touchstones I draw the inspiration for my fiber, yarns and finished pieces. I keep accurate notes on the batts I make, so can approximately duplicate most batt colors; if you need more fiber than I offer, send me a convo to see if I can produce more (sometimes colors have been discontinued by my suppliers).

And for those of you who are puppy owners, No, I don't spin other people's dog fur. It would just take too much time away from what I really want to do--making spinning batts and yarn in lots of colors. If you do a Google search (or whatever search engine you use) on "spinning dog fur" or "spinning chiengora", you'll come up with several folks who do dog fur.
