All felted pieces are based on leaves and flowers found in nature. I am always examining the world around me for new and inspiring specimens. I begin the crafting process by wet felting pre-dyed sheep's wool in flat sheets. Sometimes silk fiber is also included for added dimension. Petals and leaves are then free-motion embroidered and cut out. Seed pods and other parts like acorns are needle felted, and then hand beaded. Once each piece is fully constructed a pin backing is securely glued to the back.
