Why Fido?

Fido means "faithful" in Latin; it's also a common name for a dog.

What does this have to do with bags???

Well...

I used to sew a lot, but then got busy with life and put my machine away. Fast forward a bit... I got a dog! She's two now but she came to me when she was just a few weeks old. She's amazing, but is super shy and is often afraid of every day things. Because of that, I have to carry her from time to time when we're out and about. At 40lbs, it can be a lot to hold! I had the idea to make a sling that would help support her... found some great lavender canvas, pulled out my machine, and voila! I made a puppy sling! (Yes, I look ridiculous!)

I remembered how much I enjoyed sewing and started making all sorts of random projects.

One of those projects was the small tote bag featured in my shop. When I made this bag for the first time, I thought it was a little awkward and wasn't sure what I was going to do with it. I realized though, that it was perfect for my Bible! I started carrying it around and several people commented what a neat bag it was. I made a few here and there but never expected to make as many have I have recently!

It took me a while to think of a name for my shop, but I think Fido Bags couldn't be more perfect. I'm sure my dog Nola would agree!

All small totes measure approximately 9.5" width x 16.5" length and are reinforced with interfacing for sturdiness unless otherwise specified. Convo me if you need them smaller or larger.
