Transverse flutes featuring 4, 5, and 6 tone hole tuning systems in Oriental scales, Eastern scales and Ragas from India. In my workshop I cure different species of bamboo all year long. When I build your flute order I drill the emboucher and the tone holes first, then I finish the tone holes with a quick burn from a selection of burning rods I have developed. All flutes are built from various cured species of Chinese Tan Tonkin bamboo. Many of my flute designs are based on the late David Carradine flute design model [bamboo flute can rest on the left shoulder like a violin.] My flutes are built in the ancient tradition of the master flute builders from China and Japan. I use a nice custom mix of dark and red stain finish, an eco-flow natural water based stain color embellishing application and a final treatment of various natural oils. The flutes feature brown thread bindings. My artist wife Nicole Richardson creates all of the artwork on my flutes via her beautiful handcarving and painting work.

I offer interesting and exotic flute tunings, North Indian Bhairava, Oriental Minor, Melodic Minor, Bilaval, Asavari, Arabian, Native Style Tuning, Middle Eastern, and more.
