Welcome to my Etsy Shop. My name is Rick Martin and I have been a Blacksmith for over 20 years. I hand forge Iron over a fire and hammer it into shape over an anvil. I make many things for the Hearth & Home. I learned at Old Sturbridge Village & I liked it so much I set up my own shop. I Blacksmith in the traditional manner of Blacksmiths of 150-200 years ago. All items are hand made over a coal fired forge. No Trip Hammers! No machine made items! I use techniques that were used by blacksmiths back then. I live with 2 cats in an 1870's farmhouse near the Connecticut River in Western MA. Visitors to the shop are always welcome! The shop is in the old tractor repair building. I also give lessons in Blacksmithing (one on one for a more useful experience) and I have a portable forge for demonstrations at schools & historical events & festivals. I also do custom work for people who are restoring 18th & 19th century buildings. I'm also available for lectures & restoration consultations. Thank you for looking.
