About THE ORPHANAGE: As is true of many Etsians and twenty-somethings, thrifting is something I do both for the joy of finding something wonderful, and for the necessity of a very affordable piece of clothing. Often and widespread as I thrift, I always wonder what's out there--the perfect black velvet, lace-y 80's prom dress that will fit my body *perfectly*... but maybe it's in Chicago or Portugal and I won't make it there in time. In a similar vein, I've found some absolutely stellar pieces that don't fit me, and I get so nagged by the thoughts of those pieces not being brought to the attention of someone who could ROCK it. So I thought I might start picking up those pieces to create a little Grace Under Pressure collection that suits the GuP aesthetic--thus, The Orphanage! Nothing is ridiculously marked up--I am just too excited to get good clothes to good, deserving homes.
