Did you know that glass takes a million years or so to break down in the landfill? I have been in the glass business for many years and have developed a great appreciation for this wonderful, renewable material. I am also keenly aware of the tremendous waste and recycling challenges in our industry and wanted to come up with a way to reuse glass in a creative way and generate awareness about glass waste and recycling issues.
After seeing sunlight reflected on a pile of broken tempered glass I decided this was a perfect material to up-cycle and get creative with. I work mainly with glass but have branched out to include other works of functional up-cycled art.
