I originally started my Etsy shop in 2006 with just a few Christmas ornaments. Then I lost interest for awhile.

When I started making plans to retire from my medical transcription career (keyboard), I knew that I wanted to begin documenting my designs (crochet hooks) and was looking for a way to sell the patterns. I have been designing for over 20 years and just selling the items created from these designs. Because my crochet designs are small items, it just was not feasible to make a good income producing ornaments.

I began investigating the Etsy site more specifically at retirement and realized that I could sell patterns via Etsy. Now that the PDF download capability has been added, it is even more practical to sell patterns. I have more ideas and designs in progress than I can get written but I am excited for the opportunity.

The other keyboard in my life is the piano. While I do not get to play over long periods of time, I do get to sing in a Barbershop Chorus weekly and teach others to sing as well. Occasionally I am inspired to try my hand at a musical arrangement.

So I keep busy using my hands in one way or another. All of these activities bring me great joy.
