In this shop you will find unique hand painted Porcelain Delft blue Jewelry, wall hangings and ornaments. All items are hand formed and hand painted in the traditional Dutch Delft technique using cobalt oxide and transparent porcelain glaze or tin glaze.

A couple of years ago I fell in love with cobalt oxide. The pigment is extremely strong and needs a lot of exercise and fine tuning to be able to play with it. Working with cobalt oxide reminds me of painting with watercolours on rough and absorbing watercolour paper. When raw, the oxide looks like a powdery charcoal. The vibrant blue colour only appears after glazing and firing in a kiln at 1260° Celsius or 2300° Fahrenheit.

I make and paint all pieces by hand and fire them in my own kiln in my home studio in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
