Thanks for visiting The Plum Plum
For years I’ve loved to paint. Big, bold colours. I’m not a dainty painter, really quite messy, so the bigger the canvas the better. I’ve painted murals in my apartment, a tangled garden on my fence, a rainforest in my son’s bedroom. But now I’ve shrunk some of my more reasonably-sized paintings into printed cards. The women depicted remind me of people you might run into in Paris in the 1920s - denizens of La Rotonde, La Closerie des Lilas or Le Dome.
History is very important to me. I love making connections between people, time and place. It was like an archaeological discovery for me when I recently came into the possession of some family photographs that revealed a family history I never knew. Some of those images will work their way onto postcards and tote bags.
