I live and work just outside of my hometown of Savannah, Georgia. I studied Illustration at the Savannah College of Art & Design, and draw inspiration from my coastal southern heritage and love for moss-draped live oak trees.
I paint subtractively with thin washes of oil paint. Each layer is applied over the entire surface then carefully removed with erasers. I repeat the process, until I build a rich value and surface texture which is unlike traditional oil applications. Some paintings have as many as 14 different color washes on them and nearly all have a touch of eraser dust. It's magic!
In my spare time, I enjoy walks in nature exploring the coastal barrier islands nearby and taking my two sons along for the journey.
Thank you for taking the time to stop by my shop. I hope my work brings you joy!
Live colorfully,
Heather
