Announcement    Heirloomwoodworks makes Chess sets and Mantle clocks from reclaimed 1830's barn beams. These Chess sets and Mantle clocks are full of cool features, old black nail holes, peg holes and pegs beautiful burls and tons of worm holes and tunnels. Most of my pieces are made from Wormy Chestnut trees. The American Chestnut trees died off at the end of the 1800's and early 1900's due to a blight. I encourage people to "google" Chestnut Blight to see the fascinating history of this rare wood which is really only available from reclaimed sources. Its so cool to own a piece that you know was hand hewn by one of our Pioneer Forefathers 180 years ago These make great gifts for a loved History Buff, Wood worker, or Barn/Farm Lover. Each piece is marked with the type of wood, age and info on the Winston barn in Centerville Ohio, and is signed and numbered. I include a cool framed photo of the Winston Barn in the 1940's and also a pamphlet about the Wormy Chestnut Trees and even a copy of a local 1982 newspaper photo of Farmer Winston out painting the barn, he is quoted as saying its 150 years old at that time. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read my customer reviews, every one is 5 star and are full of descriptions like Awestruck, Coolest thing he owns,Absolutely Stunning, Art Work, Amazing, Love It, Best Gift He Ever Received.
