ilesola's Shop Announcement

Thank you to all my customers for your support! I am now working to get my inventory back after so many sales - please keep checking back!!!!

The name "Ilesola" is a combination of the French word for Island - "Ile" and the Italian "Isola" . To make your jewelry, I've collected sea glass on the beaches of Ile Lameque, part of Canada's French-speaking Acadian Islands, and in a secret spot near Isola Murano, Italy,.home to Venetian glassblowers since the 1200's. The sea stones used in my pieces have have been tumbled in the waves of the North Atlantic, and in the Pacific surf of Redondo Beach, California. I have recently discovered some wonderful beach stones and beach glass here in Vermont along the shores of Lake Champlain's many islands. My latest find has been the creamy ivory and cameo bits of weathered coquina shell I have gathered near my mother's place on Anastasia island, Florida, just south of St. Augustine. I use polymer clay as a base for much of my work, as it "cures" at a low temperature, and does not harm sea shells or the delicate frosting on seaglass . It also enhances the color and shape of these natural materials. I set (or wrap) earrings and pendants in copper, bronze, brass, Argentium silver, or sterling filled wire.
