Hello all! My name is Alyssa and I have always been obsessed with geeky culture, hipster iconology, and dreams. I like to think of each craft I make as a little dream coming to life from the jar that is my mind. Hence the name, Jar of Dreams.
I often try not to make more than one of each item because I want each creation to truly be unique. People wear clothes and accessories for many reasons, and I believe knowing the piece I make is one-of-a-kind will leave my customers more satisfied than a mass produced product will.
I am a supporter of the DIY lifestyle and I believe handmade is the way to go. If DIY is not your cup of tea but you want something original and unique, buying handmade is the answer, which I try to do as often as possible. I am interested in all sorts of fashion and try to incorporate a variety of styles into my work.
I fully support recycling which is why I do my best to use recycled materials in my products. It helps the environment and guarantees some unique aspect to your purchase.
As for my non-jewelry goods, up-cycling is also extremely important to the production process. Materials used are thrifted, taken from old clothes, or donated by friends and family.
All pieces are thoroughly cleaned to ensure a quality product for you.
Because I know how difficult it can be to fit in time to find a gift and to wrap it, I offer a variety of gift-wrapping options for free. Consider it a good deed I am more than happy to perform to help show my gratitude to customers.
I enjoy crafting and like most commercial crafters, it began as a hobby that garnished plenty of attention from friends and family. After enough comments of the, "You could sell that!" variety, I finally cracked and opened this shop.
