jennifwr's Shop Announcement

My name is Jennai

I am a pretty big fan of ETSY all around and decided it was about time I open a shop of my own to sell some things.I will likely use this shop to sell my little salvaged drop-dead gorgeous porcelain dolls.

All of the SkELLE's are made from reclaimed china that I find at garage sales, in the garbage, in thrift stores and in flea markets. I collect broken, chipped, damaged and discarded glassware and breathe new dead life into these ladies by painting over them with beautiful bones! I have a B.FA Hon in visual arts, my disciplines I studied were sculpture, photography and printmaking. I have great respect and esteem for bones and skeletons. I am what you might called bone-obsessed! Each SkELLE is made with accuracy in mind. I am not just putting random bones on dolls, but take great care and consult medical diagrams and textbooks for accuracy where permitted (sometimes the details are just too fine for my brush.)

Each doll is one-of-a-kind, hand painted and finished by myself, glazed and set. They take several hours to complete over multiple sittings and days. Each one is hand picked and the painting is selected to compliment the doll herself. I do hope you like them as much as I do!

In addition to that I am a vegan, a baker, an anarcha-feminist and radically sober, so although there are a lot of bones in my shop, they are all referential. No actual bones will ever be used in any of my work, regardless how they come to be in the world. If there are things that resemble bones, they are clay or ceramic ALWAYS. Everything is vegan friendly.

Also, I don't know what the shipping will be, so I aimed high. Most of what I make is ceramic, porcelain or glass, so they need to be robustly packed to survive shipping. If you buy something non-fragile and the shipping is way off, I will refund the difference. If you live near Toronto Canada and you want to pick your doll up, we can probably work something out to save on shipping costs. (I am always down to have one less trip to the post office!)

If you have a request or a question, please get in touch. If you have something that you'd like a skeleton painted on, get in touch and we'll see what I can do for you. I am happy to take custom orders within reason, but I am mostly at the mercy of what I can find. If there is something you collect, you can let me know and I'll keep an eye out on my salvage trips. Otherwise I just pick the most unique and interesting figures I can find.

Thanks for dropping by! I hope you can find something you like. I really appreciate that you've stopped by to see us! Thanks so much again for your time and interest!
