**Resin is a hard plastic (that looks alot like glass) which originates as a liquid. You mix the resin with a catalyst, which starts a chemical reaction that hardens the plastic. While the resin is in the curing phase, you have a short period of time to add dyes, powders and inclusions. While resin can look alot like glass (clear and shiny without any dyes added), it is much lighter.
