Thank You Etsy for including me in the Eco-Friendly item poll on the Storque. That was really fun.
I'd also like to thank Vintage Indie and Try Handmade for their articles on my work.
I sell select items at Freedom Surf Shop in VA Beach. Stop in if you're a local or traveling in the area.
I love what Etsy is all about, and I have met some great people through this site. I wish everyone great success!
My first dream was to sell jewelry on Etsy.
I got a little sidetracked creating upcycled/recycled art. I have just started to incorporate my methods into some jewelry designs.
If I'm not busy making this stuff, I am obsessively thinking about making this stuff.
One of my favorite things to dabble in is stained glass. I adopted the Tiffany technique (copper foiling) most commonly used for stained glass work, to create some pieces out of recycled aluminum. They are really fun to do. To be honest, I find this medium to be a little more complicated than stained glass (the aluminum can get crazy hot when soldering, and the paint can tend to lift from the aluminum when heated or when it comes in contact with the patina chemicals). After trial and error, I have finally figured out a method that I feel maintains the integrity of the medium, and I am happy with the results.
Personally, I really find the color variations in the aluminum cans to be more exciting than glass. I feel really good helping the environment in my own way, and, I really think my friends, family and neighbors get a kick out of bringing me their trash!
I ship to international buyers.
