MY WORK WILL BE FEATURED IN THE SUMMER ISSUE OF ART QUILTING STUDIO MAGAZINE - ON NEWSSTANDS 1 JUNE!

on 6 march, 2012 i made the decision to start a daily practice of making a small art quilt. my intention was that each quilt would be a spontaneous response to whatever was going on in my world, my home, my soul on that day... on 5 march 2013 i completed my 266th quilt and decided to take some time off. i began the practice again on 17 april 2013, because the work kept calling to me and i was unable to stay away. now, however, the "quilts" are referred to as "quilted drawings". i've never thought of myself as a quilter and my process is more akin to drawing. a matter of semantics, perhaps, but i feel better for the change. the drawings are accompanied by a haiku, small story, or reflection; each the result of meditating on the drawing as it is being made. the challenge is to be open to what each drawing has to teach me...

i love the drawings framed with a wide white mat and plain frame. used singly, in pairs, or in a large grouping: perfection!
