Ladybird Likes was created in February 2012, in a spare bedroom in West London, as an outlet for my need to create things. It was meant to be a hobby, making things in my spare time and getting a little bit of extra pocket money to spend on books and novelty iPhone apps. It's since grown into my full-time job, and I couldn't be happier; creating jewellery every day is pretty much my DREAM!

The motto for Ladybird Likes is 'making nice things for nice people' and that is my aim; to make pieces of jewellery that are different to the high-street offerings, giving you lovely people the opportunity to own something a bit special, but without a massive price tag!

I'm massively inspired by all things old - I spend a lot of time trawling car boot sales, charity shops, and junk shops, looking for weird and wonderful things to bring home with me (much to my family's dismay!) It's these things that inspire what I make - the fashion lady brooches are made using the illustration from vintage sewing patterns, the moon collar clips use images from a book about space, the owl brooches are inspired by my collection of owl ornaments.

So what's next for Ladybird Likes? I want to grow the business even further, building up new product ranges, both of jewellery and non-jewellery items, trying out jewellery parties and workshops, and working towards the goal of one day having my own bricks and mortar shop where I can sell nice things, hold workshops, and throw wild tea parties where everyone is invited.
