Lauren Blais was recently named "Best of Boston" by the Improper Bostonian. She is a New England based artist who earned her BFA in metals from the Massachusetts College of Art. Lauren's jewelry is inspired by Victorian mourning jewelry with a modern twist and is hand fabricated by Lauren using traditional and non traditional metalsmithing techniques. Her pieces are dark, deft and delicate constructions of sterling silver etched with antique wallpaper filigree accented with gemstones, fur and exotic leathers. Since graduating, Lauren is living in Boston, MA. creating jewelry out of her studio in Somerville.
