I sat there. Quietly pondering all of the efforts made thus far, introspective.....reflective..... sometimes wrapped in melancholy, at other times inspired by something I couldn't put my finger on but that I knew came from deep within.

I had never questioned that music was my first love and that on the journey with other musical souls my life had been blessed. Putting words, emotions and melodies down on paper, a magical process that even to this day brings a tear to my eye, was something I cherished, but now I needed to find another outlet to express myself. A way for not only my music to be heard on a broader level, but for the other aspects of myself that had long been oppressed, to come forward.

They say that "a jack of all trades is a master of none".

I don't believe this.

This is not part of my inner reality or what I feel to be true. If we are all unique and special and come from something greater than ourselves, than there can be no limitations. What is our true potential?

I believe we are born to be masters of all our hearts' desire to put forth. We are brilliant and unlimited and far more worthy than we give ourselves credit.

So on that day, with a coffee in my hand and my heart in the other, I pondered my life's goals, my desire to share with humanity all that was within my heart.

My music...AND my art. My words...AND my jewelry. My home decor AND my handbags.

My views on the world around me and all I felt no matter what FORM they chose to materialize through.

I began to brainstorm and sketch out my designs, my concepts, all that I was about to begin offering. Every passion I had suppressed.

I decided that I would put it all out into the world. I would share myself and create a store that perhaps put a smile on someones face...I would birth what I think we were all born to birth, our "light", our brilliance, our dreams in their full beauty and I would stop believing in the I cant's.

Leila's "world" is the world through my eyes, as felt within my heart and as visualized in my minds eye. A world where we can celebrate our diversity, admire the color and beauty of other cultures but MOST of all... our own personal beauty that often times we have put aside and hidden because of our fears and insecurities.

It is my sincerest desire that you find something that moves you...inspires you...or just makes you feel better about who you are and all that you have to share with the world in your own special unique way...

On the way out of the coffee shop that day, passing by the same newspaper vending machine I pass a million times, my local paper's headlines read "Field Of Dreams" the name of the new children's playground they were building nearby.

That night when I turned on the television the first station I landed on was airing the movie "Field of Dreams"

" If you build it....they will come" is how the movie tagline goes...

Yes. That was quite an introspective time in my life.
