Fabrics and yarn are so essential in our lives - they add color, texture, warmth and functionality. I am drawn to modern design that serve a purpose, but also traditional patterns that are full of culture and history.

The process of creating is a vital part of my life, and Little Hen Studio is the perfect vehicle for me to channel my passion. A lot of what I make has come from my own needs, and I love a challenge to make something new. Home organization is high on my agenda, as I constantly try to keep some measure of control in a small house with two young boys. You will see this reflected in my shop where you can find a variety of storage and organizing items.

Growing up in Norway, my grandmother taught me how to knit, and my mother let me practice on her sewing machine. After years of sewing and knitting for myself, friends and family, Little Hen Studio came to life in early 2012. I live in a small New England town, with my husband and two boys, along with a flock of chickens and an ever-expanding kitchen garden.
