Peace cranes are elegant, whimsical, or pretty wedding favors. The style depends on the paper you choose. They can be based on a theme, a hobby, a passion that the two of you have. Peace Cranes can be symbolic of something you want to convey. Peace cranes may commemorate how or where the two of you met, or have something to do with your backgrounds.

According to an ancient Japanese legend anyone who folds a thousand origami cranes will be granted a wish by the crane, the most venerable of all holy beasts. The folded cranes are used to wish newlyweds and newborns good luck. You will often see the cranes hanging in homes to assure the dwellers good fortune and in most recent years the cranes have been adopted as a symbol of peace.

"I shall write peace upon your wings, your heart and you shall fly around the world so that children will no longer have to die this way."

— Sadako Sasaski, 12
Victim of the atomic bomb attack on Hiroshima

Sadako began folding 1000 peace cranes in the early 1950's after being exposed to the toxins. The story of Sadako, and the memorial children raised money for in her honor is now visited by millions of people a year who leave 1000 cranes at the memorial.
