I have always been a collector. Whether it was collecting keychains as a wee one to commemorate the places I had been or as it is now collecting tattoos and art to celebrate events as well as the every day. I have always been drawn to the kitschy, weird and out of the ordinary.
I enjoy one of the great American Folk Art traditions of classic tattoo art. I enjoy the challenge of making functional, wearable art & modern home decor that draws from historical elements. I am also fortunate to have access to some of the greatest illustrations, prints and ad designs of the last century.
I firmly believe that re-use is one of the keys to making an environmental impact. The practicality of buying second-hand is what drew me to selling vintage as a teen & the 'eco-friendly' movement is one I'm happy to subscribe to in the purest sense that I can. My products are made from entirely re-purposed materials- they are even tagged and packed with reused paper and commuted on a bicycle in a vintage army backpack.
Our taste has become so eclectic as we have a myriad of modern avenues to information. I would like Made By Lauren B to be for everyone -for those of you who either wear tattoos or enjoy classic imagery -if you're looking for unique vintage or affordable, new artwork -if you enjoy bold, bright statement pieces or rustic antiques --My hope is there is something for everyone.
