DIOurself Invitation Design
manchmal2's Shop Announcement
***A note: I've got too many orders! I need a little helper bee. I'm going to have to stop taking new orders until I finish up some of the beautiful designs I'm working on. I'll let you know when I'm back. Please don't purchase any designs without contacting me first. Thank you, and I'm sorry for any inconveniences. I'm just one girl who has another full-time job. :)
-----
This is a shop in which you and I (a graphic designer) work together to make custom designed invitation and invitation components for your wedding, party, event, or anything else you can think of.
The best thing about this is that your invitations will be different from anyone else's -- "unique in all the world," as they say in "The Little Prince." When you send them out, they will be yours alone, and unique to you and the people you care about.
I'm really up for any design work you need. You save money by doing it yourself...with the technical and aesthetic expertise of a designer who will give you a HIGH-RESOLUTION FILE to print yourself or have printed somewhere else. If you DO want me to do the printing and assembling, we can talk about that, too. Everything is possible.
Here's how it goes:
FIRST
a. You select from designs I have OR
b. You select a vector/drawing from a stock art website (I can suggest some to you) based on the theme you want (**please see note at top of store -- fees to use stock art designs in-shop still apply. If there is an art charge, it is noted at the top of the listing.
SECOND
You give me the colors you want and, if applicable, the stock art. If you select something from a stock site, rather than from one of my own illustrations, I can purchase the image for you, and then bill you for the exact amount. This is usually no more than $10. You also give me all the text for the invite.
THIRD
I design the piece according to your size, copy, and color specifications.
FOURTH
I mail you a PROOF PDF. You send me any corrections.
FIFTH
I make the corrections and send you a high resolution file in a format of your choice.
SIXTH
You do with this file what you want. You can use a service like www.vistaprint.com to get prints, or make your own prints at Kinko's. I can send you suggestions for creative ways to make invites using pocketfolders, blank cardstock cards from your favorite stationery store, etc. It's up to you!
TIMELINE: I will need 5 days to create individual components, and 1 week to do an entire invitation file package. I often get things done much sooner, but this is the "official" time window.
THE GENERAL GIST:
You pick your art, I do the technical legwork, and give you a FILE that's going to make a beautiful print. You do your invites yourself...with a little help from a designer. Want a different size or something totally different? Need some advice or recommendations for printers, paper-suppliers, art-suppliers, or anything else? EMAIL ME. I'd love to help. This is fun for me.
ONE NOTE: What you see on the screen as "white" will be THE COLOR OF THE PAPER YOU ARE USING. If it's not white, then you will not have white when you (or anyone else) prints the file.
