Hello, and welcome to the mattt DESIGN LAB, the place to find my very latest handmade bags (and one-off products).
Everything is 100% designed and handmade by myself in my studio in Melbourne, Australia.
I use a variety of high quality materials and fabrics which are often produced in collaboration with local textile designers and illustrators.
These designers currently include Julie Patterson of Cloth (Sydney), Stewart Russell of Spacecraft (Melbourne) and Lara Cameron and Tegan Rose of Ink & Spindle (Melbourne).
I also digitally print a number of designs in-house using a sublimation process on a large-format Roland 300V printer.
Whilst I have been creating handmade bags for a number of years I have recently simplified things somewhat and now focus on making one-off and personalised products rather than wholesaling my products.
Many of the ideas you'll find here will quite possibly make it to my regular online shop at some point, however this is an opportunity for me to share these ideas more quickly than I have in the past.
As it is a very big part of my process (creative or otherwise) I have also detailed the music I was listening to while making that particular product. Any suggestions about bands worth checking out would also be fantastic.
As I'm quite new to Etsy please feel free to make any suggestions on ways I can improve things.
