Shop Update 16 January 2024
23 January 2024 I will commence full time study and this impacts my Etsy shop. For the first semester which is 18 weeks long I am in the laboratory on Mondays 8am-5pm, Wednesdays 9am-5pm, Thursday 1pm-4pm and Fridays 8am-4pm, this may change in Semester 2 as the time table is subject to change. I will only be able to dispatch orders on Tuesdays, half day on Thursdays (this is only if the order comes over night or early in the morning) and Saturdays (the post office shuts at midday on Saturday's, and through the week it shuts at 5pm). Usually I dispatch same day or the next business day so this is a big change for my buyers. I am not able to use my phone whilst in the laboratory so any messages will only be responded to during lunch time 12pm-1pm, and after hours. All other times I will respond as quickly as I have always done. Shipping prices for 2024 have been increased. I have absorbed shipping costs for 2023, however recently some low value orders combined with coupons or free shipping codes or my reduced shipping prices have meant that processing, shipping and paying Etsy fees actually meant that It negated the sale i.e. the order cost me money so the sale only gave me debt. I can no longer absorb those sort of costs, thus the modest increase. USA orders of $US35 are still automatically free, but outside that shipping to the USA is now $18, the actual cost to ship to the USA is $21, so I am still carrying a small part of the cost. Domestic has gone up from $9.05 to the current cost of $10.60. All packages have a tracking code.

I adore vintage and antique beads, modern beads do not have the appeal that these beads have for me. With exception of all things Swarovski and Czech/Japanese beads. I have a massive Swarovski crystal collection that occupy two very tall cabinets in my beading room .. known as 'the bead lounge' and recently referred to as 'Aladdins Cave'.

I previously designed and wrote project tutorials and articles for Australian Beading magazine (2008-2012), which was a bi-monthly publication. I was also a member of the design team for Digital Beading Magazine, a leading emag which launched December 2012.

My work has featured in more than 30 national and international magazines and 7 books. I have won national and international beading contests including two third places in the 2012 Bead Dream contest, and I was a finalist in the 2013 Bead Dreams contest, I won a Bronze Medal 2012 and the Presidents Award 2011 in the annual Fire Mountain Gems and Beads Jewellery contests. I Won 2nd place in the British Bead Awards Contest in 2013 and served on the judging panel of the Battle of the Beadsmith 2013 contest.

Illness stopped me beading and designing in my tracks in 2015, even after I recovered, my zest and passion for beading was totally gone. I look at my past work and cannot fathom how I accomplished it. After some years I have decided it is time to let go of saleable parts of beading stash and return them to the market. I do not want to leave my family the task of decommissioning my bead room, after I am gone. I list new items daily and will be doing so for years to come as there is so much to catalogue, photograph/edit and list, it is very time consuming. I will be a fulltime student in 2024, so this will impact my ability to frequently list items in my shop even further.
