  • Barbara

    Owner, Designer, Manufacturing

I love art, my old house, hanging with my two extraordinary kids, playing with fabric and designing ideas into reality! Always on the lookout for new ways to do things so that we can still have beauty and convenience, yet leave less trash behind.

Stephanie and I have known each other since we were young. She is a talented seamstress, and a wonderful friend. She helps me with sewing, finishing and packaging the products. She is a lovely addition to our team!

Frequently asked questions

Rush Order Availability

Contact me before purchase for rush order availability and pricing.

Shipping

We offer Free Shipping on all US orders over $35! This applies to a single transaction. We are happy to combine additional transactions for $1.50 per additional transaction.
Expedited processing, shipping upgrades, insurance add-ons will not count towards this amount.
USPS is our primary shipping provider. All packages will travel via standard mail unless an upgrade is added. Not all packages will receive a tracking number, please add it at check out if you want tracking.
Our packaging is made from 100% post consumer/industrial waste. It is 100% recyclable and reusable - We do not cover anything inside with additional paper or plastic.

Insurance

Insurance is available and recommended for all items.

On orders over $100, an additional $1.00 per $50 will be added for insurance coverage. If you prefer not to have the coverage, just let us know and it will not be added.

Insurance covers the cost of the items inside the package only, and does not cover shipping costs or any other costs you may have incurred when ordering. Insurance claims can't be made on packages that are incorrectly addressed.

Each listing will give you the option to add insurance.
If you add insurance after purchasing, the price includes additional transaction fees.

**Uninsured orders lost in the mail can not be refunded or replaced.**

International Orders

All international packages will have tracking. Your tracking number may not begin tracking until the package leaves the United States.

Once your package leaves the studio it can take as long as 8 weeks to arrive.

Insurance is recommended - uninsured packages lost in the mail can not be refunded or replaced.

For large orders (greater than $50 US), contact me before purchase for a bundled listing as I can sometimes get better shipping rates than the automatic check out.

Items will not be marked as a gift to get around customs officials. They do check packages and confirm that these items are sold and what prices they are sold for.

Refunds

I stand behind my work and my products are guaranteed to last.
If there are any problems with your order, please contact me! You can be sure I will listen to you and do my very best to fix the problem.

Returns will be promptly and courteously refunded, less shipping, without any questions. Items must be unwashed, unused, returned within the appropriate time frame via mail with a tracking number and receipt confirmed. Unclaimed returned packages are eligible for a refund. Items must have tracking and receipt confirmed. Refunds for orders with free shipping may be charged a restocking fee. Expedited processing, shipping upgrades, insurance and custom orders are not refundable. You must contact me within 60 days for non receipt of package.

Custom Requests/Substitutions

I'm sorry, but I don't do custom work on projects where outside fabric is mailed to the studio for sewing.

Price quotes for custom work are good for 1 week.

I am happy to make substitutions or customize on any order. This is based on availability and my interpretation of the request.

I reserve the right to make substitutions in cases where a pattern/color is not available. If this happens, I will substitute the closest available pattern/color/hue. If more than one substitution is required, I will send a note to verify if you still want to have the items before shipping the order - even if this will delay shipping.

What is a serged or overlocked edge?

Overlocking is done by a special sewing machine called a serger. This machine uses a process of simultaneously trimming fabric, wrapping the trimmed edge with thread and sewing everything down with stitching. The four thread edge we use on our products has an upper and lower wrapped edge secured by a row of double stitches. This process creates a thin yet soft border which becomes stronger after washing. As the fabric shrinks, the wrapped edges seal, creating a finish that will last for years.
