I learned to knit in England 50 years ago and picked it up again in 2009 to make preemie hats and blankets to donate to hospitals and groups.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

I occasionally am asked if I will do a custom blanket in a larger size but I really prefer to make the preemie blankets and just do not have time to add in more projects, especially ones that would take longer to make and interfere with working on the projects I already have started.

Sizing details

I put a measuring tape on two sides of each blanket in the photo to show the size. Most of the preemie blankets run around 16 X 20 inches but they could be smaller or larger depending on the size of fabric I start with and how many rows around them I add.

Care instructions

I recommend either hand washing or machine washing the blankets on gentle cycle. If you put your item in a mesh lingerie bag before washing, it protects it from getting too roughed up in the agitation causing pilling. I just find they look nicer when they are more protected. They are machine washable in cold or warm water. They could probably withstand hot water but I can't make any guarantees on their longevity if they are washed in hot water.

They are machine dryable on low heat or can be laid flat to dry. The more gently they are washed and dried, the longer they will stay looking nice. This is pretty much true of everything you wash.
