nanoscapes are original geometric abstract watercolors that are created in 5 steps: (1) pencil outline of each element, (2) Davy's Gray (light gray watercolor) outline of each element, (3) paint in the colors (sometimes multiple times), (4) outline each element with contrasting watercolor, and (5) corral the image with a single watercolor line. Fun and done.
The first nanoscapes were post-card-sized and intricately detailed. When a friend said that he couldn't put a postcard behind his sofa, I hesitated. Could I paint larger nanoscapes while staying true to the intricate detail that motivates me? Yes. Absolutely. Yes.
You may purchase original nanoscapes, limited and open edition digital prints on archival paper, blank note cards with envelopes, and four 2010 limited edition canvas tote bags. I accept commissions for watercolor paintings, painted needlepoint canvas, and for logos.
