Wildflower Garden Kit Information
Your garden set includes a plantable seed paper shape, handcrafted using 100% post-consumer/ post-industrial recycled paper, packed with annual and perennial wildflowers. All seeds used are certified Non-GMO and have an approximate germination rate of 75%.
Follow the instructions provided and you’ll be enjoying beautiful wildflowers in no time! If you need more detailed instructions, check out some more of our FAQ below.
*While perennials don’t normally bloom the first year, your annuals will. You can look forward to the perennials coming back each year to remind you of the person that sent it.
When can I plant my Wildflower Garden Kit?
Indoors:
Plant anytime indoors, then transplant to a more permanent location when there is no risk of frost.
Outdoors:
Plant the paper outdoors early spring or late fall. Fall plantings will take advantage of the winter rains to give you early spring blooms.
How to Plant and Nourish your Wildflower Garden Kit
1. Soak the seed paper shape and soil pellet separately in water overnight. Soaking the soil pellet inside the flower pot will cause it to expand filling the inside of the flower pot with soil.
2. Cut a slit in the top of the soil pellet and gently loosen the topsoil with your fingertips.
3. Place the wet seed paper in the planter and add a small amount of the soil on top to hold in moisture.
4. Water well, especially during the first 4 to 6 weeks.
5. Once the sprouts are well established they can easily be transplanted to a more permanent outdoor location.
Wildflower Garden Kit Seed Mix includes:
Sweet William Pinks, Rocket Larkspur, Candytuft , Baby Blue Eyes, Corn Poppy, Forget-Me-Not, Wallflower, Columbine, Zinnia, Lemon Mint, Five Spot, Catchfly, English Daisy, Sweet Alyssum, Spurred Snapdragon, Black Eyed Susan
Shelf Life of our Wildflower Seed Paper/Garden Kits
We continuously test and plant seed papers that have been at our factory for several years. Seed paper can grow even if 5 or 6 years old, but typically the germ rates start to decline after 3 or 4 years. This will also depend on how the paper is stored – keeping it in a cool, dry place will preserve the germ rates much longer than if the paper is kept in a hot, humid one.
