Not Far From The Tree is Toronto's very own fruit tree project, ensuring that the fruit growing in the urban canopy is picked, shared, eaten, and enoyed! We're a small non-profit with a strong design sensibility. Purchasing from us means you get fun stuff to support fun work!
In 2010 we harvested nearly 20,000 lbs of fruit that would have otherwise gone to waste. It was shared equally among fruit tree owners, volunteers, and local food banks and shelters.
We'll pick any fruit that grows on a tree (and even some nuts) in Toronto: cherries, serviceberries, mulberries, apricots, plums, pears, peaches, crabapples, elderberries, sumac, apples, black walnuts, and ginkgo nuts.
