Hearts are a symbol of life and hearts are a symbol of love. I’m a ceramic artist and I began making hearts because life and love are precious to us. With these hearts, you can let someone know they are special to you or to serve as a symbol of inspiration in your own life
Where most pottery is glazed to create its decoration, the designs in these hearts are created by colored clay. When you pick up these hearts, you feel the smoothness of the clay and a connection to the earth. Each heart is fun to shake because each is a rattle, one of the oldest instruments in the world.
Each heart comes with a heart stone, a small flat clay heart with a word, affirmation or message for the recipient. Each comes in a gift box and includes a brief history of the rattle. Some hearts come with stands, giving them the look of an art piece. Then there is the traditional hand held rattle. These hearts will look great on nightstands, windowsill, desks and tables.
