Origami is an ancient japanese art of paper folding, requiring patience and craft. All kinds of geometric forms, animals or flowers take shape from one single square of paper, traditionally without any cut or glue.
Origami is a zen art that the japanese spirit and culture has invented. This complex yet accessible craft has conquered the world with its poetry, beauty and therapeutical virtue for the soul. The material is simple but the possibilities of creations are infinite.
Here are the jewels that origami inspired me, once I took fancy in miniaturizing these paper sculptures. The crane, the most popular shape in origami - yet not the most simple to make - is traditionally a symbol of happiness, longevity, health, fortune and wealth. More recently, the crane became also a symbol for peace. Most of the creations presented here have been glazed in resin. So they are protected to fly over the world. May they bring peace at your contact!
