Portmanteau is a blending of two words to create something new. In my store, PapierManteau, you will find pieces borne when 2 or more source materials are deconstructed, envisioned afresh, and blended together in a singular manner.
Each piece is comprised of hundreds to thousands of meticulously torn bits of several high resolution magazine photographs, adhered to a backing (typically canvas panel or chipboard ATC) to create a one of a kind composition.
Giclee prints start as images created using a top of the line flatbed scanner (Epson Expression 10000XL, with output capabilities up to 2400 ppi) which are color corrected to match the original. Those images are sent to a professional art printer who uses the best available current technology, ensuring colors are both vibrant and long-lasting when treated with care.
