made from 100% remnant and re-purposed materials for the Fashion-forward,
Earth Conscience Girl.

“Repair, reuse, make do, and don’t throw anything away” was a motto during the Great Depression. Families had very little money to buy new clothes from the store... So mothers mended socks and sewed patches over holes in clothes. Clothes were “recycled” and reused as younger children “made do” with hand-me-downs.

This depressionesque ‘thrifty’ concept is the foundation of Depression Couture by PetuniaBaker. To take something, mundane and thought to be unusable and turn it into a beautiful piece of couture clothing for girls and moms. We love to use repurposed and scrap materials to create one of a kind details allowing the old and discarded to take on new life, like the feed sack dress of the Great Depressions.

All of our garments are hand-sewn and individually crafted creating a truly unique, one-of-a-kind design found only in couture clothing. Details are mindfully chosen and sewn from colorful scraps of luscious fabrics and trims, with lots of random top-stitching to add an extra pop!

We love custom orders, especially this time of year. Every little girl MUST shine! Custom orders are welcome and carry a 2-4 week turnaround (depending on size of order) - excluding delivery time.
