•••The word mandala itself is derived from the root-word manda, which means essence, and the suffix la, meaning container.

•••I make mandalas from photographs I take of nature and of things that interest me. I construct them, digitally, each with care and aesthetic detail. I do NOT use any template based mandala software (I just recentely learned such a thing exists). I make them all piece by piece, by hand.

•••Mandalas should be thought to hold an essence of both the microcosms in nature and the macrocosms of life. Historically, the art of creating a mandala is a spiritual endeavor, generally involving meditation and a unique self exploration.

•••These mandalas are both intimate and grand. They look great in tabletop frames, and wall frames! They are available in a wide selection of sizes.
