Illustrations of wildlife captured in print, paper and plastic.
I work primarily on a clay-coated surface (clayboard) with inks and a sharp blade. Using a brush, I paint ink on the clay surface. After it dries, I scratch away the ink to reveal the white clay beneath.
I love creating realistic-looking images of completely unrealistic situations. This helps me express my thoughts about the environment without imposing my feelings on the viewer. While a frogmouth nesting in a teacup is on its own a pleasing image, I am thinking "where will this frogmouth nest when there are no more trees?"

I try to make my practice as eco-friendly as possible. The clayboard I use is made from sustainable sources, my cards and envelopes are made on recycled paper, and my prints are now made on environmentally sustainable paper and supported by unbleached paperboard. I also re-use and recycle in my studio as much as possible.
Everything in my shop is a high-quality reproduction that I have made from my original artwork. I hope you enjoy!
