RiKARiKA creations are made from vintage kimonos - one-of-a-kind dresses, appliqued skirts, hand-embellished mary jane shoes, art panels, Pet Cosies - every item is unique, special and precious - and maybe even a little bit magical...!

Each RiKARiKA creation is unique. They have been made with the utmost care, using top-quality vintage kimono silk in some shape or form – whether it be the entire article of clothing, or in combination with newer materials. All of the silk is from kimonos and obis that were disassembled because they were no longer suitable for wear, so there may be a few slight imperfections (which only add character and history). These textiles are very precious and rare - hand-selected in extremely limited amounts. These items are not “recycled,” but rather renewed as an art piece, unleashing the original beauty of the fabric.
While I do love using beautiful kimono fabrics in my creations, I also strive to create things that focus on good design elements and detail that is exciting to the eye, with equal attention to practicality. I personally am the designer and seamstress, so I oversee every step from conception to end product - ensuring that the quality of each piece of every step is never compromised. I strive to design clothing that flatters every woman, with all the eclectic touches in the right places that make every item unique - my mission is to have everyone that wears my creations feel like it was made just for them.
