Sacha Yaku: Fair Trade Indigenous Art

Sacha Yaku sells ceramics and jewelry purchased at fair trade prices from indigenous women in the small jungle community of Santa Ana, Ecuador. The women use the same materials and techniques that their ancestors have for hundreds of years. Selling the art is a way to generate income for these women and to give them a sustainable alternative to logging their rain forest to pay for health care and education for their children. All of the profits are invested in supporting the community's potable water system.
