Vintage Finds - redesigned. Estate Saling, I rescue forgotten and abandoned vintage linen (jewelry too). Nostalgia hits. I see the promise in these, once useful, but now passe', househhold items. I redesign, repurpose, remodel, - giving them new life.

So much talent and skill was employed to create these wonderfully embellished pieces of household linen. It would break my heart to see that wasted.
I might use a vintage doily which, once upon a time, protected a 40's armchair and repurpose it into a purse or a brooch. I reclaim the linen feed sacks from the 20's and 30's to repurpose into sofa cushions.

Decorating with these treasures gives your home a one of a kind, cottage/farmhouse chic look that you'd never be able to duplicate at the mall. And it gives me so much satisfaction to think that, somehow, I've preserved a little piece of the past, honoring the remembrance of the gentle handwork skills of our forebearers. I'm inspired by the embroiderers, lace-makers, knitters, and dressmakers of yesteryear.Their painstaking handwork is my muse.

The jewelry I repurpose from castoffs, will garner loads of compliments. There will never be another piece like the one you have.
