Welcome to Sampaguita Quilts.

I love designing and making quilts, and take great pride in my work. Unless specified, my quilts are original designs. I've been quiltmaking for 15 years and so far have had two of my quilts published as projects in Australian quilting magazines, with at least four more to come. I take commissions, so please contact me if you want something custom-made; either an original or a variation on another of my quilts. I can work from your ideas (perhaps a photo, a colour, or a theme) to create sample designs which we can refine together.

My quilts are from a smoke-free environment, are kept away from pets and, and will be carefully packaged to arrive safely. I use quality quilters' cottons, Matilda's Own wool/cotton batting and occasionally beautiful embellishments. Unless otherwise specified, my quilts are machine pieced, appliqued and quilted, and the labels and backs of the bindings are hand-stitched using an almost invisible ladder-stitch.

Each quilt has a label with care instructions. As a rule, quilts should be gently hand washed in cool water, and dried flat in the shade. Cot, play and bed quilts are designed for use, and can be gently machine washed and dried, although hand care is ideal. Depending on their construction, some art quilts may not be suitable for washing, but may be spot-cleaned with a soft, damp cloth. All wallhangings come with a hanging sleeve attached.
