I have fallen in love with oils about 5 years ago and have been painting only with oils ever since. I love learning from local artists and exploring new styles, subjects and techniques. But my favorite technique is impasto painting with a painting knife, which I consider the most expressive technique.
The term “impasto” is used to describe paintings with a very thick layer of paint, which have a distinct three-dimensional texture. You can clearly see brush or knife strokes on such paintings. The strokes itself are just as important as the actual composition and theme of the paintings. Impasto paintings always seem quite abstract; they do not just picture the reality, they express feelings and emotions of the artist. And that is exactly what I am trying to do through my art.
When you see impasto painting in front of you, it is hard to help the urge to touch its surface. People asked me many times if it is OK to touch my paintings. And I always say: “Yes, go ahead, touch it! If you do it carefully, it is not going to harm the painting, but will just add to your experience of exploring the art.” And yes, sometimes I like to touch my paintings too. Unfortunately, you can not touch my painting online, but I always make some pictures from the side to show off the texture of the knife strokes.

All my paintings are original! I do not do any prints. I work only with oils and canvas (or canvas boards). All the paintings are unique, all are initialed on the front and signed and dated on the back.
