SHARON SAINDON

sharonsaindon's Shop Announcement

I have limited my available items while I am in Chicago. Check back the end of May when I have more items ready to ship. I will be checking email, but will only be shipping the items listed. Let me know if you have any questions. PLEASE SEE SHARONSAINDON.COM FOR MORE IMAGES AND INFO ABOUT ME. WELCOME to my Etsy jewelry store containing meticulously made jewelry created by me, and only me, in lovely Port Townsend, Washingtington.I live just across the border from Vancouver Island, BC, and close to the San Juan Islands, Olympic Mountains, and Seattle where I am surrounded by water, grey skies and mountains. I use traditional smithing techniques and nothing but the finest quality solid sterling silver and high karat gold. I make beautiful, heirloom quality, consciously designed jewelry to be worn every day or for extra special events where you want to sparkle and shine.
I recycle my own (and sometimes others) silver and gold scraps and my primary metals supplier is Hauser Miller from St.Louis, MO. They have been selling and refining precious metals since 1909 and have a minimum content of 50% post consumer silver and gold in their alloys.
I have no molds of my work; every piece is HAND MADE INDIVIDUALLY BY ME. THIS ALLOWS MY JEWELRY TO BE LIGHTWEIGHT AND COMFORTABLE ENOUGH FOR EVERY DAY WEAR. Even the big pieces, which I think is awesome and hard to find.

My jewelry business allows me the flexibility in my daily schedule to grow beautiful food in my 2,500 sq. ft vegetable garden. I have been working with metals for almost 20 years and have been growing food since I was a little girl. I graduated from the University of WA, Seattle with a BFA (5 year degree) in Metal Design in 1998. I run a one woman show here, making and marketing my work. I started studying back yard agriculture with my grandmother as soon as I was strong enough to pull up carrots. From there I grew my knowledge of the plant and vegetable world through working on farms, and with professional landscapers, doing private landscaping, and volunteering for a organic seed foundation. I still grow only organicly and use solely open pollinated seeds that I save when I can and then donate them to a small local seed company here in Port Townsend. For free info on how to grow your food, see ptgiardino.blogspot.com.
