Payment
~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Nitty Gritty PITA details - Payment & Taxes ~~~~~~~~~~~~
► CALIFORNIA SALES TAX - 8.5% sales tax for CA shipments will be added to your total during the payment process - these include those shipped by a third party buyer with a CA recipient. PLEASE enter the correct CA shipping address at PayPal so the sales tax will be calculated automatically. If you submit a non-CA address with your PayPal payment but request shipping to a CA address, your payment will be refunded and I will invoice to collect CA sales tax.
► PAYMENT - Payment via
(1) PayPal (credit card, instant transfer or echeck) is due at check-out
OR
(2) credit card accepted via telephone (US card holders only) - please contact me immediately after the check out process to submit your payment info: http://www.etsy.com/convo_new.php?to_username=soap
► COMBINED SHIPPING - I will combine shipping (any purchases from any of my accounts: soap, myotherpersonality,soaps,handmadesoap) to the extent possible to save on shipping costs (most items can be combined in one box or envelope for US destinations) BUT buyer must make ONE combined payment only - excess shipping will be refunded. Small handling charge applies still --- ► ► ► A flat rate env holds about 7 regular soap bars + a few lip balm tubes or a couple of perfume containers. Other boxed fixed rates are available for larger orders shipped to US addresses.
► OTHER DISCOUNTS - discounts for multiple-item purchases are listed. These listings with discounts reflected already MUST be used to get any discounts. Items purchased separately will be charged the amount shown (except for combined shipping). No other discounting offered, except wholesale with order minimums, re-sale restrictions (no online re-selling), signed statement stating items are for re-sale as received and not for any other use, and submission of business documentation and
► SHIPPING ADDRESS - Item will be shipped to the PayPal address provided with payment ONLY, so please check it conforms with any address you submit via check-out. Orders with incomplete or incorrect addresses submitted e.g. no or improper addressee name, non matching country/address etc may be canceled. Buyer is responsible for any additional postage to resend item that is returned to sender due to rejection at delivery address provided. To add a gift recipient's address to your PayPal account, log into your PP account and add it there under Profile > Addresses .
From 2012, I will REVERSE TRANSACTIONS (including payment) where the correct address is not submitted with the order. If buyer doesn't catch the error before I have already shipped the order, a replacement will be sent ONLY if (1) and the when the original package returns to me AND (2) buyer pays for re-shipment costs (s/h).
Shipping
► The packing peanuts (not bubble wrap) I use are biodegradable/compostable starch or reused (clean) from fragile orders. The cornstarch peanuts may be re-used, added to your compost pile or dissolved with water and washed down the drain. I package to protect your items in transit (this means bubblewrap and/or boxes and/or peanuts and/or paper), so PLEASE let me know ASAP if you feel like I could've improved on something (*knocking on wood* no complaints yet :) If you prefer I use only paper cushioning and/or an outer box (instead of bubble envelope in most cases), let me know, and I will invoice you for the additional costs (usually, the shipping weight goes up, among other things).
► Unless other estimate is quoted in listing, current turnaround time is 1-3 business days (M-F) for US shipments (except APO/FPO) or 1-4 business days (M-F) for all other destinations (including APO/FPO).
► Title/Risk of Loss, Damage, FOB place of shipment (USPS, FedEx, other carrier) - by making payment, buyer agrees title to the ordered goods passes to the buyer at the time and place of shipment. Buyer authorizes seller to send the ordered goods to the buyer. Buyer also agrees s/he understands optional insurance is available at an extra cost (read below for details) and assumes the risk of loss and/or damage after seller gets purchased item(s) to the carrier (USPS, FedEx or similar common carrier) by declining to insure. If a package is returned due to incorrect address provided or due to recipient/recipient address, buyer will be responsible for additional postage before item is reshipped.
► Buyer has option to add insurance :: INSURANCE is optional and an extra $1.75 for shipments to US and Canada, USD 2.40 for the other countries listed below. Seller is not responsible for packages lost or damaged by the carrier, buyer assumes the risk of loss and/or damage by not opting for extra insurance.
► INTERNATIONAL buyers (Canadians, read below) - All prices are in USD. I ship air mail or priority mail. Importation duties or other taxes may be levied at destination and are not included in purchase price. Please don't ask me to commit an US federal offense by marking "gift." If you'd like tracking capability, shipping must be upgraded to EXPRESS MAIL. If your country is not on the list, it may be due to import restrictions for what I sell, it's nothing personal. Thanks!
----- ***** as of 2012 CANADA shipments - sorry, due to losses, I'm placing a larger handling fee on all shipments to Canada. If the frequency of losses of Canadian packages increases further, I will consider more protective measures. Hate doing this as many of you are repeat buyers but , whether due to CA Post or customs, there are more delays and other issues compared to other international shipments. *****
► DUTIES & TAXES - (except for California state sales tax added & collected during PayPal payment), these are not included in the purchase price or payment and are buyer's responsibility. ALL packages will be marked "commercial sample/merchandise" on the customs form. Please don't ask me to commit an US federal offense by marking "gift" or less than actual price. Thanks!
► SHIPPING TO U.S. addresses: Please check your PayPal payment page details for the Delivery Confirmation number (DC). The DC is not a tracking and the USPS is only required to scan the label upon delivery. Any intermediate scanning by the USPS on domestic labels is at their discretion, is inconsistent, and not guaranteed. Tracking is not available for domestic USPS except for Express Mail. If you'd like tracking for your package with USPS, upgrade to USPS Express Mail is available - please contact me.
► TRANSIT TIME - I wish I could tell you precisely on what particular day the USPS will deliver, but even the USPS won't guarantee a specific delivery date (except for Express Mail). I can only tell you my own turnaround time.
Refunds and Exchanges
► READ other applicable terms in above sections. Buyer is responsible for reading terms in this policies, which s/he agrees applies to her/his purchase.
► In the event an order cannot be fulfilled (or if the buyer's account already is in deficit for a previous order which has been shipped), payment for the new order will be refunded and the order canceled with Etsy.
► Due to the personal nature of soaps and bath/body care products, all sales are final - no refunds, exchanges or returns if fault was not mine. However, if you think I've goofed your order in some way or if you're unhappy with my product, PLEASE PLEASE contact me ASAP.

► Wholesale / private labeling inquiries welcome - minimum order required. Except for private labeling, online re-sale of items is restricted.
►I do not consign, do not send free items, do not send items for reviews or participate in samplers. All my charitable giving is done through off-line contacts. Due to volume, I may not reply to any convos requesting free items or similar requests.
