Spiritfire Designs offers eco conscious jewellery and wearable art for women who dare to wear statement pieces that are unique, individual and one-of-a-kind.
I create for the inner queen within each of us. She rules her kingdom with strength and courage, throwing her arms wide to unleash her femininity with a bohemian sensuality.
When a woman wears a piece from my collection, I want her to feel empowered, to embrace that bold, crazy, beautiful part of herself, and to celebrate the strength and beauty inherent in being a woman.
Embracing femininity also means respecting mother earth. The excessive waste our society produces is unsustainable so I have chosen to use salvaged and secondhand materials in my work. These are obtained via spontaneous, surprise discoveries made on my wanderings through op shops, garage sales and vintage markets.
I aim to challenge the viewer to rethink about what they perceive to be valuable, and to appreciate the creative potential of the things we throw away. To this end, I strive for high quality workmanship using traditional methods like sewing and knotting, pared with unconventional materials such as keyboard keys and crochet doilies.
