Welcome to Spóra: eco friendly jewelry made with natural seeds and beans from the Amazon rainforest, semi-precious stones, silver, and brass.

Most necklaces are one of a kind or of a very limited edition. I select and buy the seeds in Brazil; seeds are a seasonal item and some can be very difficult to find -- sometimes I can never find the same seed again.

After a hole is drilled by hand in each seed, they are treated with natural oils that work as a sealant. Once treated, the seeds will not sprout or germinate, but avoid getting them wet and store them in a dry place -- your natural seed jewelry will last for many generations! If needed, rub a little vegetable oil to give them a shine once in a while.

I treat the brass to a beautiful patina, it looks like brushed gold. In time, natural oxydation can make the brass darken; you can brighten the brass by brushing it with dry soft steel wool. Do not use any cleaning liquid product in any of the jewelry. If you need to give the sterling silver a shine, use a soft cloth.

Seeds are not only beautiful and eco friendly, they are also a symbol: for birth, beginning, renewal, life; they make us aware of the environment and remind us of what is really precious in our planet earth: the earth itself.
