Jewelry By Steven Brownlee,

stevenbrownlee's Shop Announcement

The jewelry I present to you are all one of a kind pieces, individual sculptures, mostly fabricated in sterling silver, yet I use copper and gold as well. Metal is my medium, but I use many different types of materials in my work: wood, fossils and precious stones, amongst other things. The meaning in my work is to show the beauty of symmetrical shapes, crisp lines and the wonderful contrast they create with organic shapes and materials.
My inspiration comes from architecture, mechanisms and the way things work. What intrigues me the most are structures such as bridges, not only the wonderful construction, the way it was designed and built, but I also love the positive and negative space. I also have a fascination with metals that have been crushed, folded and rusted with time. The textures, folds and the fact that they go un-noticed, pushes me to make jewelry pieces so the public can share with me what I find so amazing.
I love to create unusual pieces, whatever comes to mind, and I work to develop these ideas until they blossom, so everything works harmoniously. I hope that you find my jewelry creations intriguing, and enjoy them as much as I do.
